Why is Reflective Foil Insulation so important? Here are some reasons why.

In most buildings , heat is transfered by three main methods. Conduction/ direct contact, Convection/ circulation, and Radiant/ electromagnetic. 75% of heat loss is from radiant transfer. Reflective Foil Insulation addresses all three of these sources of heat loss.

 

What is Conduction? The transfer of heat from material to material through direct contact.

What is Convection? The tranfer of heat in the air by movement.

What is Radiant? The transfer of heat through infrared waves.

What happens  WITHOUT Reflective Foil Insulation?

 

In the summer, 93% of heat gain is through radiant heat.

And in the winter, 50-75% of heat loss is through the roof via radiant heat. As well as 65-85% of heat loss through walls via radiant heat.

 

What happens WITH Reflective Foil Insulation?

 

When using our product, our reflective insulations properties will block up to 97% of radiant heat as it tries to enter in the summer.

In the winter our products reflective properties will block up to 97% of radiant heat as it tries to excape.

  • Class 1A Fire Safety. Reflective Insulation has a Class 1A fire rating. Flame/ smoke spread is low and meets ASTM E84/2599.

  • Low Emissivity. Reflective insulation has a low emissivity. ASTM C1371 / Emissivity rating of 0.04

  • Vapor Performance. Reflective insulation water vapor performance is 0.000

  • Non Toxic. Reflective insulation is non toxic and non carcinogenic.

  • Prevents Nesting. Reflective insulation prevents nesting of rodents, birds and bugs.

  • Inhibits Mold. Reflective insulation does not promote growth of black mold or fungus.
